Starting with orientation on Wednesday, March 20, this course offers a unique opportunity to learn practical techniques and develop a deeper understanding of mindfulness. This is 8 week series is based on research and practices from the acclaimed Stress Reduction Program founded in 1979 by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.

Throughout the course, you'll explore various mindfulness practices, including meditation, gentle yoga, and body awareness exercises. These practices will help you develop resilience, enhance self-awareness, and promote a sense of calm.

Sloan Museum of Discovery and Longway Planetarium’s 5th annual Mix and Mingle Under the Stars will take place at Longway Planetarium on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. Enjoy tastes of local food, cocktails, ciders, wine, and beer served up by Genesee County’s favorite chefs and brewers. This fun event will also feature a silent auction. Mix and Mingle Under the Stars supports our outreach initiatives and helps our daily operations. This event also helps open doors to thousands of underserved kids so they can attend educational programs and engage in history and science.

Cocktail attire. This event is for adults 21+ only.

TICKETS AVAILABLE FRIDAY, JANUARY 26TH. Flint Under the Stars presents WestFall wsg. Heat Above. This is an all ages show. All proceeds benefit KidsTix, a program that expands access to the arts by providing admission to live performances for children and their families. LETS FILL THE SEATS!!!

This show features a band from the resurgent emo genre - paired with a thoughtfully curated, world-class orchestra. This spring, Emo Orchestra welcomes Escape the Fate as the featured guest. The setlist includes four songs from the featured artist’s catalog, in addition to 13-15 other hits from the genre. Fans will hear Escape the Fate perform their own hits, along with songs by Evanescence, My Chemical Romance, Good Charlotte, and many more.
